Woodland Mouse on Toadstool

Woodland Mouse on Toadstool Sculpture

On a cool autumn morning, when the grass is wet with mist and the woods are only just beginning to stir, this tiny mouse has found the perfect place to pause.

Perched proudly on top of a plump woodland toadstool, he looks as though he has climbed up simply to admire the view. There’s something wonderfully storybook about him — a little creature in his own quiet corner of the countryside, surrounded by damp leaves, moss and the hush of an early morning.

Sculpted by Michael Simpson, the piece is cast in resin bronze and carefully hand-painted in artists’ oils, with soft green and gold details that bring out the texture of the toadstool and the character of the mouse.

A charming little sculpture for anyone who loves woodland creatures, autumn walks and the quiet magic of the countryside.
