A 'dhurrie' or 'durry' rug is a classic Indian flatweave textile, beautifully hand loomed by skilled artisans using eco friendly materials. Crafted from a rich blend of jute and recycled cotton, this rug is not only stylish but also exceptionally durable and easy to care for—an inviting addition to any busy, high-traffic space.
The rug features a geometric two-tone pattern available in fashionable bold colours: teal, red, olive and mustard, contrasted by a neutral shade and is finished with a hand-knotted fringe at both ends for added detail and texture.
We strongly recommend using a rug underlay on any stone, wood or tiled floors to increase comfort, prevent slipping and reduce any trip risks. We do not currently stock rug underlay (we are working on that!) but it is easily obtainable and inexpensive and is sold by many home retailers and online.

A 'dhurrie' or 'durry' rug is a traditional type of Indian textile of flatweave construction (it has no pile). Typically hand loomed from eco friendly materials such as jute, cotton, and wool, or yarn mixtures of these, they are often highly decorative, sometimes reversible, and appreciated for their strength and durability in use. We strongly recommend using a rug underlay on any stone, wood or tiled floors to increase comfort, prevent slipping and reduce any trip risks. We do not currently stock rug underlay (we are working on that!) but it is easily obtainable and inexpensive and is sold by many home retailers and online. Rug underlay can be bought in specific sizes or you can easily cut it to fit. It can also be used to minimise any risk of colour transfer from rugs onto carpets and it reduces noise.
Spot clean spills with a soft cloth and mild soap. Shake to remove debris. Carefully vacuum on a low setting, without a beater bar and use a soft brush attachment for the fringes. We recommend dry cleaning only. Rotate the rug for even wear.
