For over 160 years, Trefriw Woollen Mills has been weaving traditional Welsh tapestry fabrics in the heart of North Wales, preserving a remarkable legacy of craftsmanship, heritage, and artisan skill.

Still family owned since being acquired by the current family’s great-grandfather in 1859, the mill continues to produce its iconic Welsh tapestry textiles using traditional methods and historic machinery — some of which are over 50 years old. In a wonderful celebration of Welsh industrial heritage, many of the machines are powered by a beautifully preserved 1940s water-driven turbine.

Every woven piece reflects generations of expertise, care, and authenticity. From their world-renowned Welsh tapestry bedspreads and throws to beautifully crafted purses, bags, cushions, and accessories, each item carries the warmth, texture, and timeless character of genuine Welsh wool craftsmanship.
